Step into the magic of 100 years of Disney! Experience an enchanting day with 100 iconic characters, unique experiences and surprising shows on Oct. 16, 2023 at Disneyland Paris.
On Oct. 16, 1923, the Disney Brothers Cartoon Studio was officially founded by Walt Disney, marking the beginning of a revolution in the entertainment industry and storytelling. For 100 years, France played a crucial role in Disney history, both in Walt Disney's life and in Disney films, providing iconic locations and literary and artistic inspiration. In 1992, Disneyland Paris opened its doors, bringing beloved Disney stories to life in settings and attractions often influenced by France and the broader European region. Today, the French influence remains important, especially through the craftsmanship seen throughout the resort, in the creation and renovation of park landmarks such as the Sleeping Beauty Castle.
In honor of Disney's 100th anniversary, Disneyland Paris has prepared an unprecedented program of surprises, including an extraordinary ceremony bringing together 100 iconic Disney characters. Other surprises await guests on this special day, including unforgettable encounters with Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse and friends in special outfits and unique Disney experiences. A unique opportunity awaits guests as they immerse themselves in 100 years of Disney Magic!
The day began with an exceptional welcome: Mickey, Minnie and their friends in exclusive Disney100 outfits, along with 20 dancers also dressed for the occasion, awaited the arrival of guests in front of the Sleeping Beauty Castle! To celebrate the centennial anniversary of The Walt Disney Company, 100 Disney characters, accompanied by 100 Disney VoluntEARS, took their places in front of the castle, drawing everyone into their favorite stories, from Pixar's Toy Story to Walt Disney Animation Studios films such as Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Peter Pan and Frozen - during this unique moment.
This unique moment also provided an opportunity to show gratitude to the Disney VoluntEARS, cast members who donate their time and talent to provide comfort, happiness and inspiration to children and families through philanthropic initiatives.
The surprises will continue throughout the day with a pre-parade led by Mickey, Minnie and their friends, along with dancers, prior to Disney Stars on Parade. Guests will also have the chance to meet these iconic characters in both parks - on Castle Stage in Disneyland Park and at Production Courtyard in Walt Disney Studios Park - to make this anniversary even more memorable.
In the evening, both parks will conclude the celebrations with a nighttime show featuring projections celebrating 100 years of Disney stories. This impressive show will take place at The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror after the Avengers: Power the Night drone show, and at Sleeping Beauty Castle after the incredible nighttime show Disney Dreams!®. October 16, 2023 will undoubtedly leave a lasting impression on guests, who will be the centerpiece of this special day, for as Walt Disney once said: "You, young and young at heart, help this dream come true."
