Are you looking for a unique and adventurous Disney experience away from the hustle and bustle of the parks? Then Disney Davy Crockett Ranch the perfect place for you! Together with Lander, I had an unforgettable time in one of the cosy log cabins. Discover with us the charm of this rustic accommodation, in the middle of nature yet close to the magical Disneyland Paris.
Disney Davy Crockett Ranch
After a short drive of about 15 minutes from Disneyland Paris, we arrived at the Davy Crockett Ranch around noon. The wooden log cabins, surrounded by trees, immediately created a cosy atmosphere. Check-in went very smoothly and we were warmly welcomed by the Cast Members. Before moving into our log cabin, we made a small stop at the Alamo Trading Post to stock up on some essentials. The shop offered a nice selection of souvenirs, snacks and supplies for staying in the log cabin.
Our Premium Tribe log cabin
The interior of our log cabin was simple but comfortable, with a mix of wood and textiles. You enter the log cabin through the terrace where a barbecue and picnic table are at your disposal.
At the moment, you still need a physical key to enter your log cabin. You will get this from reception after checking in. From 2025, this will change. Then, as in the other Disney Hotels, you can enter your log cabin with your MagicPass.
Once inside, you will discover a spacious living room and kitchen. The living room is furnished with a cosy sitting area, a dining table with six chairs and a small television. On this television you will find all kinds of information about your stay and Disneyland Paris.
The kitchen is well equipped with everything you need to cook for yourself, including a hob, microwave, kettle, coffee maker and dishwasher. Handy to know: with your MagicPass, you can pick up a free dishwashing kit every day at the Alamo Trading Post.
On the left side of the log cabin is the master bedroom. This bedroom has a double bed and an ensuite bathroom with shower, sink, hairdryer and toilet.
To the right, you will find a separate toilet, a bathroom with shower and sink, and a second bedroom with four single beds.
Discovery Quest
We then embarked on a little discovery tour of the ranch. The Discovery Quest led us past all kinds of fun places where you can do fun activities on the ranch. For example, we explored the recently renovated playground, where children can have fun for hours. Including a slide, swing and climbing apparatus, this playground offers plenty of challenges for adventurous children.
During our tour, we passed by the mini-golf course, a fun challenge for the whole family. The Arcade Hall can also provide entertainment when you want to fill up dead moments or when the weather is a bit off. However, it is worth noting that each game has to be paid for individually and is not included in your stay.
A nice extra for sporty guests is the indoor tennis court at the ranch. Unfortunately, we were not able to try these latter activities ourselves because we only stayed one night at Disney's Davy Crockett Ranch. We recommend you provide at least a day and a half at the ranch itself to do all the activities if desired.
Buffet in Davy Crockett's Tavern
As we mentioned earlier, we did not use the kitchen facilities in our log cabin. We chose to dine at Davy Crockett's Tavern in the evening. The restaurant offered an extensive buffet, with a wide choice of meat, fish and vegetarian dishes. For the little guests, there was even a special children's buffet with their favourite dishes.
To complete the dinner, we could enjoy a cosy barbecue outside. During the summer months, when the weather permits, fresh meat is grilled on the barbecue. We tasted delicious sausages and satays.
As icing on the cake, there was an extensive dessert buffet with all kinds of sweet treats. From creamy mousses to fruity salads, there was something for everyone.
Takeaway breakfast
After a lovely and mostly quiet night in the forest, a takeaway breakfast awaited us. You must book this breakfast the day before at reception or at the Alamo Trading Post. It costs €14 per person and can be collected between 07:00 and 11:00 at a special chalet near your log cabin. Which chalet this is will be told to you by a Cast Member when booking.
The takeaway breakfast offers a wide choice of breakfast products. Each package includes one baguette, a packet of milk and an assortment of butter, sugar, jam and Nutella as standard. In addition, you can choose from per person:
- Butter croissant, pain au chocolat, Coco Pops or Cornflakes
- A jar of applesauce or a jar of mixed fruit
- Regular coffee, decaf coffee, cocoa powder or tea
- Orange or apple juice
Would you like honey with your breakfast? No problem! Just ask for it when booking.
Although the breakfast is slightly more limited than in other Disney Hotels, we found it very tasty. It gave us enough energy for a day full of magic at Disneyland Paris.
Blue Springs Pool
Before our stay came to an end, we took a refreshing dip in the pool. You can have hours of fun in the pool here, enjoy a ride on the big slide, play among the waterfall and explore the various caves. There is also a large bridge to walk across and, for the littlest adventurers, a special children's pool.
The pool water was a bit too cool for our taste (27°C), we would have liked it to be a bit warmer. So we soon moved on to the relaxing hot tubs. There are three hot tubs in total, which you can enjoy with up to six people at a time.
Off to Disneyland Paris
After a short but sweet stay at the Davy Crockett Ranch, it was time for us to pack our belongings and take the taxi back towards Disneyland Paris. Feeling satisfied, we left the ranch knowing that we would definitely be back.
Checking out, by the way, is incredibly easy! Both at reception and at the exit of the domain, there is a key box. Here you can easily leave your key in and get on with your day.
For us, Disney's Davy Crockett Ranch is the perfect place for families looking for a unique and adventurous holiday. The combination of the rustic atmosphere, nature and proximity to Disneyland Paris makes this accommodation highly recommended.
