The Fantastic Four are coming to the Marvel Cinematic Universe! Marvel Studios today revealed the cast for the highly anticipated film, which will hit theatres in 2025.
Pedro Pascal (The Last of Us) will play Reed Richards/Mr Fantastic, Vanessa Kirby (The Crown) will play Sue Storm/Invisible Woman, Joseph Quinn (Stranger Things) will play Johnny Storm/Human Torch, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach (The Bear) will play Ben Grimm/The Thing.
Matt Shakman (‘WandaVision’) is directing the film, based on a screenplay by Josh Friedman, Jeff Kaplan and Ian Springer.
The Fantastic Four are one of the most important superhero teams in Marvel history. They are astronauts who gain superpowers after being exposed to cosmic radiation. Reed Richards can stretch his body, Sue Storm can become invisible and create force fields, Johnny Storm can fly and manipulate fire, and Ben Grimm has been transformed into a rock-like creature with enormous strength.
The film rights to the Fantastic Four were long held by 20th Century Fox, which produced three films featuring the characters. In 2019, Disney acquired 21st Century Fox, finally allowing the Fantastic Four to be incorporated into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
In 2022‘s Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, we already got a glimpse of Reed Richards, played by John Krasinski. It is not yet known whether Krasinski will return in the new film.
The Fantastic Four are an important addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. They will add a new dynamic to the franchise, and fans can't wait to see them in action.
